Food Bank Cambodia is a grassroot, volunteer-driven initiative that works to rescue surplus food and redistribute it through community organizations, ensuring that food reaches the people quickly and safely. We believe that food banking is not just philanthropy. It is logistics & supply chain efficiency with a strong social purpose.

On 22 October 2026, Food Bank Cambodia hosted a fund-raising luncheon for corporate partners, food industry stakeholders and community organizations that celebrates the potential of surplus food. Beyond a thank you lunch for supporters and a fund raiser to expand operations; this event offers a fresh perspective on food surplus. It is not waste, but an opportunity to create value, strengthen communities and make better use of existing resources. They seek to open up conversations around surplus food, encourage greater collaboration and inspire practical solutions to food waste.

Featuring a specially curated selection of dishes that juxtapose Khmer and Singaporean cuisine, the menu featured fragrant laksa, coconut pandan cake and refreshing butterfly pea tea. Traditional laksa noodles was substituted with nom banh chok noodles and the paste for the laksa gravy, known as “kreeng” in Khmer and “rempah” in Singapore Malay, is similar to Cambodia’s favourite nom bank chok. Coconut and pandan are two ingredients commonly used in the desserts of both cultures. But most importantly, it was a partnership of culinary skills between a Cambodian and Singaporean chef.
DFI Lucky Private Limited donated the fresh ingredients, TADA is our transport partner for the delivery of meals, GG Box and the team was our venue and service partner and Fortune Life Insurance PLC sponsored meals for our beneficiaries including Cyclo Association, Cyclo Conservation and Careers Association, Isaiah Organization, IRIS Ministries, and Extreme Love Ministries. Other partners include Umami Cambodia, Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh, Capri by Fraser Phnom Penh, Himawari Hotel & Apartments, LSH Cambodia and Goodhill Enterprise Cambodia.

Food Bank Cambodia’s founder, Mr Nicholas Ng was blown away by the response. “Our fundraiser yesterday was a huge success. We sold more than 30% above our target. Everyone enjoyed the food and each laksa set is now helping us rescue and redistribute food to communities across Cambodia.”
